DC Parks and Recreation Debuts the ASAP Registration System

October 12, 2010

SUNNYVALE, CA — The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DCDPR) introduced their new ASAP Registration System with the citywide roll-out of its Fall program online. Calling ASAP "a step forward in the level of customer service the agency is able to provide to DC residents and guests," DCDPR simultaneously unveiled its most expansive roster yet of programs for the metropolitan population of 5.4 million.

The ASAP system, developed by Administrative Software Applications, Inc. (ASA) of Sunnyvale CA, enables DC residents and guests to quickly find local programs of interest and enroll online at their convenience. Customer feedback on the new system, as reported by DCDPR, has been swift and positive, noting ASAP "is faster, easier to navigate and has a more streamlined checkout process."

DCDPR is in the final stretch of an ambitious overhaul of the capitol city's recreation assets. With new playgrounds, pools, sports fields or community centers opening at a record pace since 2007, the city is emerging as the nation's model for parks and recreation programs. State-of-the-art facilities, affordable access for all neighborhoods and direct citizen input and involvement have been the driving priorities. Updating its registration system to meet user needs is the latest program enhancement.

"It's exciting to work with a premier agency like DC's DPR," says CEO Joel Meyer of ASA, "and gratifying, of course, to be part of their vision. The choice of a registration system is a key piece in bringing the people and the programs together successfully. It cannot be a static service. With user needs and technology changing constantly, it's always dynamic. We look forward to that type of partnership with DCDPR and the residents of DC."
